The International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists in English “Topical issues of Medicine” was held at St SMU

On April 25, Stavropol State University hosted The International Scientific Conference for Students and Young Researchers in English “Topical Issues of Medicine” for the seventeenth time with the support of the All-India Association of Graduates of Foreign Medical Universities and Rossotrudnichestvo.

Rector of the University, V.N. Mazharov, addressed the conference participants with welcoming words, wishing them fruitful work, and expressed the hope that the conference would promote the creative activity of students, graduate students, and young scientists, and their involvement in solving urgent problems of modern medical science. Viktor Nikolaevich noted the special significance of the conference, as it is taking place on the eve of a very important event both for Russia and for other countries of the world – the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.


The Conference participants laid flowers at the monument to the teachers and students of StSMU who died during the Great Patriotic War, honoring their memory with a minute of silence.


The opening ceremony of the Conference was also attended by President of the All India Association of Graduates of Foreign Medical Universities, CEO of A.J. Trust Educational Consultancy, Executive Director of Ameer Specialty Clinics (New Delhi, Chennai, Madurai – India), President of the International Center for Medical Education and Research (Chennai, India) Ameerjahan Najeerul Ameen, Vice-Rector for International and Interregional Affairs S.V. Znamenskaya, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovative Work A.A. Korobkeev, Vice-Rector for Medical Work and Regional Health Development E.M. Kuzmina, Head of the Department of Youth Science Development A.A. Khripunova, heads of departments, teachers, members of Students’ Scientific Society and Young Researchers and Specialists Scientific Society of StSMU.


Suresha Prakruthi, a member of Students’ Scientific Society of StSMU, an Indian citizen, noted in her speech that the university provides an excellent opportunity for students to conduct research under the guidance of teachers, exchange new ideas, participate in scientific conferences, acquire modern medical knowledge and invaluable experience.

     

Within the framework of the Conference, a teleconference was held between medical universities: Stavropol State Medical University (Russia) and the International Center for Medical Education and Research (Chennai, India).  With great interest, the Conference participants listened to an online lecture by Professor Dr. Ashutosh Kumar Singh, MD, Consultant for Department of Emergency Medicine Rela Institute & Medical Centre, as well as a commentary on joint scientific research by Professor, Head of the Department of Microbiology I.A. Bazikov, conducted by StSMU (Russia) and Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (India). The Conference was attended by more than 750 foreign and Russian students, young researchers and teachers from StSMU and Essentuki branch of StSMU, North Caucasus Federal University, Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University, Chita State Medical Academy, North Caucasus State Academy, Rostov State Medical University, Kuban State Medical University, Far Eastern State Medical University,  Almazov National Medical Research Center, as well as participants from India, China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.

     

95 reports on topical issues of medicine were presented at the meetings of eight sections.

     

The speakers demonstrated their professionalism and creative approach to research by presenting original presentations. Based on the materials of the Conference, a collection of scientific abstracts was published, which included 120 works by 151 authors from Russian and foreign universities.

     

S.V. Znamenskaya, Vice-Rector for International and Interregional Affairs, summarizing the results of the Conference, noted the relevance and importance for science and practice of the research topics of the speakers. The winners were awarded diplomas and cups in various categories, and the Conference participants received certificates.
